Baseball Team Photographs (CDVs, more)

Posted By: jamie
1. First item is a CDV of an early baseball team. Size with mount is approximately 8x10. Some water damage and tears on the mount that have been taped. The photo itself has been largely spared.

Some really interesting things to note in this picture:
a. all of the players have 'Kingfisher' on their hat. There are some other words I can't make out. I have never seen writing of any kind on a photograph this early. May refer to Kingfisher, Oklahoma or an early manufacturer.

b. What I assume is their pitcher is in a different uniform (all white with a white glove)

c. Not all muscles came from steroids. Check out this hulk:

d.What I assume is the owner (looks familiar- can anyone place him?)

e. And some great equipment on display, including a nice catcher's mitt

2. Rockville 9 CDV
I assume this is Rockville, MD but may be wrong. Great equipment on display including catcher's mask and chest protector. A little light but in excellent condition

3. Early catcher photograph- great display of early catcher's equipment. This pic has 1898 on the back but it also says 'football' so take that with a grain of salt. Equipment fits the period, clothes may not.
