Posted By: <b>RC</b><p>Thus far I have always been the buyer and not the seller but an uncle, a real relative and not a fictional character with a bogus Honus Wagner card, has a box of the magazine "The Trader Speaks". I have just 4 issues with me dating Sept. '77, Jan. '78, Feb. '78, and May '80 and they are all in good condition with no tears or writing on them. He would like to sell the entire box of issues.<br /><br />They include articles by William Heitman, Lew Lipset, George Lyons, Peter Golenbock among others.<br /><br />My question is to whether there is interest from anyone on this board or would ebay be a good place to start?<br /><br />Like I said he has quite a number of these as well as a few from TCMA called "Baseball Advertiser" which is just ads with no articles. <br /><br />Thanks for any help.<br /><br />RC<br /><br />Edited to say all are sold

Posted By: <b>Rob Dewolf</b><p>RC,<br /><br />It has been my experience that issues of <i>The Trader Speaks</i> from the late 1970s to the early '80s draw some interest, mainly from collectors who are trying to fill in gaps in their publication runs. I think <i>TTS</i> issues that are pre-1975 would be much more in demand, just because I seem to see less of those offered for sale. Regardless of the years, they're not big-ticket items. I'd venture an estimate of $5-$7 an issue for the late 1970s and a little less for ones from the '80s. Early 1970s issues, maybe $8-$10 an issue. If you've got complete years, those might be easier to sell.<br /><br />My suggestion would be to post on this board a list with a breakdown of the month/year of each issue that's available. I would try selling them individually at first, then maybe offer the ones that don't sell as a discounted package. I've had very little luck selling these on eBay.<br /><br />Hope this helps.
