John(Jack) Merson cards anyone?

Posted By: Brad
does anyone have any cards of Jack merson? he played for the Pirates and the Red Sox. He was my uncle and I would like to have some actual cards. He gave the family the remakes of his 1952 topps card #375 but i would like originals. Do any of you have this card or any others? I know he has at least 1 more but I can not figure out the brand or the year
Thanks

John(Jack) Merson cards anyone?

Posted By: Chris Counts
Brad,

I noticed on the back of his '52 card that he was just 16 when he was signed by the Senators, which seems remarkably young to be playing pro ball. I looked him up in the Baseball Encyclopedia and he's listed as being two years older. Either way, it looks like he was a solid .300 hitter in the minors. Too bad his only high-numbered Topps card just happens to be one of the toughest-to-find national issues in the post WWII era ...
