1932 NY Giants Schedule Postcards
Posted By: Jim VB
This is my quarterly bump to ask (OK, beg) for 1932 NY Giants Schedule cards.

For anyone unfamiliar with this set, it was a team issued, mail in promotion. For years it was uncataloged and several people had told me my collection was "complete" at the 18 I had. They were wrong.

REA had a partial set in 2005 (I know... I missed it. Remember, I thought my set was "complete.") The REA lot included 4 I do not have (Ethan Allen, Herman Bell, Fran Healey, and Sam Leslie). But I have 4 not in the REA lot (Fitzsimmons, O'Farrell, Ott, and Terry.)

Almost everyone is familiar with one card from this set, Hubbell. He was their most popular player and the Giants, apparently, printed extras of his card or more likely went back to a second printing. The ones you see all the time are this "second printing." There are two ways to differentiate. 1) The full set was printed on thick cardboard stock. The common Hubbell is on very thin stock. 2)The reverse side is printed upside down on the common Hubbell, when compared to the full set.

If anyone ever sees any of these, please alert me right away, or pick them up and we'll deal. I'm primarily interested in the four I'm missing, but not opposed to buying others that are dupes in hope of finding a trading partner someday.

Thanks for you time. I'll be back begging again in 3-4 months.

Posted By: Jim VB
"you really should pop this on the main board."

Well, it's a thought, but here's why I won't:

1. I'm really am trying to buy or trade for these so this is where it belongs.

2. I've been posting about these, every couple of months, for a couple of years, so most of the regulars are tired of hearing me beg.

3. I would be the first ass-hat to tell myself that the post is on the wrong board and belongs on the B/S/T.

Anyway, I appreciate the bump and the opportunity to respond so I get another bump!

Posted By: andy becker
i'm a regular, but when i see something on the BST that i don't have or i don't want to buy....well then i usually don't open it.

i wasn't suggesting that you spam the main board with a plea to buy, i was suggesting that you share the information contained in your BST post on the main board and then you could say something like "by the way, i collect these and am interested in buying or trading". i meant that in a casual way, i certainly don't advocate using the main board to further one's personal collection.

i do think the information within your BST request is worthy of the main board. quite frankly, that's the type of information that made net54 and full count what it was back in the day.

just explaining my thinking last night.

take care jim, here's another friendly bump
