Tattoo Orbits
Posted By: bruce dorskind

Hi Bob

Whilst the cards are fairly common and reasonably priced in lower grades
(there are a large number of Tattoo Orbits on E-Bay under Buy It Now-30's)
the high grade cards are far more difficult to obtain.

Kevin Savage of Kevin Savage cards has been selling off an entire set
mid-level grades through E Bay auctions and SCD auctions.

The PSA 8 cards command a real premium. I bid over $2000 on each of four
different cards and did not win a single one.

If you come across a PSA 8 or a PSA 9 I will pay top prices.

These cards appear much better in higher grades. Also have an original
leter for sale on Wrigley Stationary explaning the history Tattoo Orbits.
The price of this unique piece of history is $4500.00

Bruce

write in confidence to bdorskind@dorskindgroup.com
America's Toughest Want List

Tattoo Orbits
Posted By: Bob
Bruce- I saw where there are about 5 or 6 Orbits on ebay with BINs (I already have those), all about vgex but that's it. I don't think they are as plentiful as you say because there are about 20 commons which have not appeared on ebay during the last year and some of the HOFers are also very tough. I have also chased some of Kevin Savage's high graded slabbed cards, but without success. I was sniped on a couple of the nicer HOFers on ebay and the ones in his SCD auction went out of sight pricewise. The PSA 5s and 6s in the HOFers are fine for me. Anything higher and you run in to the Registry boys for whom price is no object.
Bob

Tattoo Orbits
Posted By: John Harrell
Bob,

I'm doing the R305 set in low grade and have been looking for a Levey for several years. Unfortunately I'm in a location where there are no shows or dealers. The R305 set is very difficult, in low grade, to put together as some of the commons (as someone else mentioned) just don't show up often. The SP commons are scarce as hens' teeth. A PSA6 Levey sold last night on Evilbay for $305, far above my pocketbook depth.

If I find the Levey, I'll have a celebration as it's the last card I need. I'll be interested to see how the new SCD catalog prices the set.

John

Posted By: Bob
John- I started to email you about the Levey card since that's the only one you need. You are right about the conditions of the cards in the set and availability, my set (so far) varies from pinholed cards to PSA 7s. Hard to find them. The strange thing is my Hall of Famers are slabbed and PSA 5s, 6s and 7s while a lot of the commons (maybe single prints?) are in lower condition.
Bob
