W516-1 Becker Back, Diamond Matchbooks For Sale

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
1.)W516-1 Jess. Barnes with interesting L. A. Becker back. Apparently an enterprising salesman handwrote an offer on the back of many cards he distributed. Nice novelty. The card itself is really nice, unusual cut, but no creases and sharp carners. $25.00 shipped

2.)1936 Diamond Matchbooks lot of 13. Nine still retain their strikers, overall pretty nice shape. Nearly all have a small "3-11" written in pen on the reverse side of the strikers. Note 3 of the books missing the striker are not in the scan, but are similar in condition to the others seen. $50.00/lot shipped

-Rhett

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
I picked up 3 of them probably from the same person- (2) Jess Barnes, and a Babe Adams. You may be right about the teacher thing, although he may be talking about the cards themselves as "tablets" -but there isn't a number or anything else he wrote on the cards to determine who would win the prize. Unless the "prize" went to the one earning (or collecting) the most cards... or should I say tablets. Anyways, interesting piece.
-Rhett
