A Rookie Scorecard/Program Question
2 Attachment(s)
Sorry, for what I'm sure is a pretty basic question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. I won't know until I ask. I purchased a ticket stub from a Yankees/Senators game from August 29, 1947. On ebay, there's a couple of scorecards that match these two teams from 1947, but these never seem to list precise game dates. I attached a sample as an example. Am I missing something, or is that the way it is? Thanks

They don't have printed dates, but sometimes the promotional calendar or ads can give you a clue to the approximate date. Also, the players on the roster for a team can change due to being on the DL, as well as late season call-ups which can provide clues as to the series that was played and where it was in the schedule. If the scorecard is scored, it makes identifying the game easier if you compare it to other games on retrosheet.org. If you were to send me examples and scoresheets and the date that you are trying to match, I might be able to help if you are still having trouble. I hope this helps! ;) |
Thanks, Scott. I already figured out that this wasn't the one I'm looking for. On August 29, Joe D. had one hit. According to this scorecard, he had two hits in this game. Very fun stuff! Thanks again.
