Satchel Paige Hall of Fame Ring at Lelands

I did a poor job of keeping track of the Lelands auction which ended early Saturday morning.

I appears that the Satchel Paige Hall of Fame ring did not get an opening bid of $25,000.00

Can anyone confirm this?

Going to the page now, there appears to be zero bides and there is not a final selling price.

According to the auction description....
Quote:

"Based on the level of wear and the source this is likely the first one Paige was given. The story we were told by the Feller group was that It was lost to a frlend of Satchel's along with other memorabilia. The other ring which is equally authentic was recently auctioned by the Paige family with their letter for $259,642. This ring size 8.5 was heavily worn but not to take it from its original aesthetic. Stone on top is cracked, which can be easily replaced. Additionally, the gold on the back of the ring is flattened from Paige nervously thumping it against many flat surfaces over the years bestowing the character and temperament of the man."
Someone had pointed out to me they believed this ring looked different from other hall of fame rings, however, I know very little about hall of fame rings and did not research this by looking at other hall of fame rings.

Seems odd, that one of Paige's rings would sell for more than 10x the opening bid of this ring and that this offering could not reach an opening bid.

Any thoughts or knowledge about this ring?
