Posted By: jackgoodman
This is the one I reported to Ebay for being in the wrong category and for possible "blatant shill" bidding. This guy is a power seller so Ebay has not done a thing about either issue for the past 5 days or so. Looks like they will let this auction end. One can only hope the shill bidder wins.

This link should work:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8823344975&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Posted By: Joann
I think the competition is actually to see who can get an old-looking T206 Wagner that they could possibly pass off as real for a few hundred more.

Anyone remember a few months ago when one buyer bought one of these reprints, and then also paid a lot for a T206 Heine Wagner in a PSA holder that had a mislabel with T206 Honus Wagner on the flip? Anyone ever see that come around as some kind of T206 PSA Honus auction?

Sorry - didn't mean to hijack the thread, but that's why I think some of these get such high prices - they look beat up enough that a buyer might think they can fool someone with it.

Joann

Posted By: scott brockelman
and yet it still continues, if one is to collect anything, they must first "buy the book" and educate themselves, if you think this is bad the early days of Yahoo were even worse with crappy fakes/aged reprints

Posted By: fkw
shill bidding, no one will pay, the seller was trying to bait some newbee into bidding at end, but it didnt work.

To answer question the 2 cards are worth between $0.00 and $0.01

That sellers been selling doctored reprints for a few years now

Posted By: jay behrens
The mislabeled Heinie Wagner PSA card was decertified and removed from the registry. I don't think they have even bothered to try and buy the cards. Then again, I am sure from their viewpoint, why should they since they can just decert the card and hopefully absolve themselves of all responsibility and try to make that ridiculous mistake go away.

This is one of the big reasons many on this board do not like PSA. They refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes. They just decert cards and try to make people believe the mistake never existed.

Jay

Growing old is not optional, growing up is.

Posted By: T206Collector
...people who bid on these kinds of auctions. It saddens me that their vote for elected officials counts the same as mine.
