Hyames, T210-7 difficulty???

Is it my imagination, or have I seen at least 4 Hyames offered within the last one and a half years?

I saw 1 on ebay and 1 on the board in the last 2 weeks. It is supposed to be very difficult, but I am just starting to study this set

Potomac Yank 06-11-2009 05:31 PM

Jim,

I wish they were all that difficult. :)

shammus 06-11-2009 10:13 PM

Hey Joe,

Several of those were probably the same card though....I bought one a few months back and have offered it up on the board a couple times. There was a low grade one that ended on Ebay just a couple days ago too....

Potomac Yank 06-11-2009 10:53 PM

Shammus, I don't think so.

Here's the math.

I've picked up two.
One just went off on eBay.
You have one ... that's four ... damn, I wish the T209 type II Irving was that way. :)

The difficulty of a card does revolve around supply and demand.Seeing 4 within a matter of time does not give any indication on it's scarcity it is done by checking collector's checklist. When I wrote the article about the tougher T-210's I did list Hyames and I still stand firm on what I said about it being tougher. How many T-210 Cantwell,Dwyer and Merchant's have you seen? Those three are extremely difficult as two other collectors and myself had those as our last pick-ups before completion of the set.Just my opinion....

Shammus, you, Jim and I, are talking about

Shammus, you, Jim and I, are talking about the availability of the Hyames card right?

The facts are:

You've got one.

I've got two.

One just went off on eBay, that makes four ... God knows how many more.

VS ... 3 collector pick ups from the 1980's.

tbob 06-14-2009 05:12 PM

Make it 5 known :)

Potomac Yank 06-14-2009 06:59 PM

Tbob, thanks for the up date, I'm sure that there are more out there.

Out of curiosity, around when did you pick it up? ... Thanks again.

Old Mill Man 06-16-2009 09:06 PM

Distressing news

Shammus, Tbob, the winner of the Hyames a few days ago, and any one else that may own a T210 Hyames.

We have just been placed in a delusional area by a supreme force of a higher plateau. :)

Simply stated, we've just been told that the T210 Hyames that we have are a figment of our imagination, an illusion.

Thank God, that no other have claimed to own one.

Old Mill Man 06-16-2009 10:14 PM

Thank-you for the compliment.
