Three players on Topps cards for 18 consecutive years

I can do this with two trios. Mays, Aaron and Clemente 1955 Topps through 1973 Topps. Aaron, Frank and Brooks 1957 Topps through 1975 Topps. Can anyone tie or beat this?

Vintageloz 01-20-2023 05:08 PM

How about Yaz, Kaat and Perry 1962 to 1983?

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 05:16 PM

Outstanding. I should have thought of that.

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 05:18 PM

Tommy John Niekro and Rose may be up there too, have to check last cards.

All had cards through 1987 Topps so that is 23 years. That has to be unbeatable.

Off the top of my head I see that you could add Kaline to that list of 1955-73 or change the trio from that group to 1954-1973 and subtract Clemente.

GasHouseGang 01-20-2023 05:25 PM

Ernie Banks, Al Kaline, and Hoyt Wilhelm starting in 1953. That's one trio

nolemmings 01-20-2023 05:31 PM

Yaz, Kaat and McCovey 1960-1980.

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 05:34 PM

Clemens, Bonds, Maddux, 1987-?

nolemmings 01-20-2023 05:41 PM

Sutton, Seaver and Carew 1967-1986. Add Niekro and Tommy John (no Rose, just HOFers) and you have 5 in the club.

Add Steve Carlton and it makes 6.

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 05:41 PM

Griffey, Johnson, Sheffield, 1989-2009?

Yup. I was going to say Carlton missed a year but that was 1966.

Good point.

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 07:09 PM

2001-2019? Ichiro Pujols Miggy

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 09:32 PM

Fisk, Blyleven, Hough -- 1972 to 1992?

Peter_Spaeth 01-20-2023 09:38 PM

Henderson, Raines, Franco -- 1982-2002?

jethrod3 01-21-2023 02:44 AM

Anyone mention Nolan Ryan yet? I come up with 25 years if you count his shared 1968 rookie card and his Finest card in 1993. He would overlap at least 15 years with the pair of Tommy John and Phil Niekro I believe.

If I can't include John and Phil Niekro since they've been mentioned already, then how about Ryan, Palmer and Joe Niekro, unless I mis-counted.

Gr8Beldini 01-21-2023 07:22 AM

1965 - 1985: Tug McGraw, Rusty Staub, Tony Perez.

You could add Ryan to my 1972 list.

A lot of guys from 69-86

frankhardy 01-27-2023 12:36 PM

Albert Pujols, Yadier Molina, and Miguel Cabrera had cards for 19 years (2004-2022).

I am fairly sure I am correct on that.

skelly423 01-29-2023 06:44 AM

I think I have the winner. i figured the answer must line with some old knuckleballer. Enter Charlie Hough. Rookie card in 1972, still showing up in Topps as late as 1994. Nolan Ryan shared this period. Carlton Fisk shows up in Topps from 1972 through to 1993. That would be a full 22 years overlap for this trio.

skelly423 01-29-2023 06:49 AM

Reading comprehension is apparently not a strength of mine, that would be a tie with Kaat-Yaz-Perry

Kaline and Banks rookies were in 1954 though.
