Real or Fake?

Saw this ebay listing with a few off backs and it looked tasty. But they have to be fakes right?

Welcome to Net54!

What makes you suspect they're fake?

Looks legit to me.

Just because they are raw PreWW2 cards doesn't necessarily make them suspect. Of course we are dealing with an Ebay listing, but these cards all seem fine.

The pics are bad quality but I can't see any dots. That's what was most suspect to me. The backs all looked good though.

It's an auction with 48+ hours to go. If you ask the seller for better pics, their response (hopefully with better pics) should help you get a feel for how trustworthy they are.

FWIW, the cards look fine, even with the pics provided. Still, never be afraid to ask questions. Any seller worth their salt will make time to send you an answer.

Thanks for the input everyone, and thanks for the welcome! I've been a lurker for a few months but hoping to get more involved.

They're real. And they're spectacular.

They look real, but look at seller feedback.

They are real but I'd rather have Teri's Hatcher's.....assets...

They're real.

On a side note, this listing was under "Similar Items" at the bottom of the page.

$202 (with still over a day left) for a "Master Preproduction" Wagner limited to only 100 made. :D

I'm in the wrong business.

His lone negative: "The set is short cards 49,163,180,395"
1983 Topps Baseball Complete Set (1-792) Boggs/Gwynn/Sandberg Rookie Cards

Seller's reply: Obviously I did not realize this and you did not reach out to me to allow me to make this right.

My comment: The T206's are either the best reprints and aging ever or they're original. I would buy from this seller unquestionably. His negative appears to be an honest mistake - of which I've made many.

If I only bid with sellers with 100%, I would miss a ton of great stuff because of the plethora of “Karen’s” out there. The percentage means jack, you have to look critically.

I admit I don't buy much off of eBay anymore, but in 679 transactions in the past I only bought stuff from 100% feedback sellers. Probably missed out on things over the years, but I never had an issue or incident in all 679.

Not trying to one-up, I have left feedback for almost 7000 transactions and have had far less than a handful of issues. There was no relationship with 100% feedback I noticed. I do use logic, someone with sub 90% may be avoided but one negative in hundreds of transactions is either an honest mistake or a complainer to me.

I also know how many sellers are held hostage by bad buyers threatening negative feedback if they do not submit to extortion for money or held over a barrel by empty box return scams. I refuse to let those people be bullied by people wasting good air.
