So--- where are you and where is this museum?

japack12 03-11-2023 12:02 PM

Both in Morristown. Not far from ya!

Great video. Will you be making additional videos about individual pieces within the museum?

japack12 03-11-2023 12:42 PM

Thank you!
I’ve considered doing individual item vids, maybe sometime in the near future? It prob won’t be that quality though ha…that vid wasn’t cheap!

So as of now, the museum isn’t open to general public. Not selling tix to view it or anything like that. But rather I’m doing private showings for individuals and groups. I’ve given it a lot of thought, and kinda feel like for now that’s how I’m gonna go with it? So, feel free to text or call me and we’ll schedule time to come visit (423) 839-3200. I love meeting other baseball history fans and hearing of their experiences of how they fell in love with the game and collecting. That’s what this is for! For all of us who love being as close as we can get to the game and our heroes!
Thanks!

Will log your phone number in to call when I can come down. Thanks.

Looks like a great place. I live in Northern Kentucky, and the next time I'm down south I'll be sure to get in contact

The museum looks fabulous, and we got a glimpse at some really incredible pieces.

I'd love to see features on the different sections, regardless of how professional they are done.

just a thought

Great stuff. Recently I was reading that conservators suggest NOT keeping baseballs and things in those cubes WITHOUT some sort of air flow. You might want to look into that.

Good info Henry, if indeed true. Can you post a link or cite where this information comes from? I may need to change things up a bit myself!

I have CRS, covid, diminished mental capacities and I am NOT aging well. That said - it was something fairly recent - perhaps from the hall of fame or the MET museum. As I begin to divest my accumulations I have been exploring the 100+ links I have to hobby history and information so might have come from something there - I'll try and figure it out :-)

Here's a link to an article that was in SCD a few years ago saying the same thing. I'm not sure I buy in to that 100 percent. The real damage to baseballs in my opinion is the oils left on the ball from handling them. As for air flow, even treated leather deteriorates over time with air. Either way, I'm thinking baseballs although a great way to display an autograph, and not the greatest way to preserve an autograph no matter what you do (and we're not talking about in our lifetime, but over a couple of hundred years).
