You an I have very similar tastes. My wife is a Tori Amos fan. I haven't listened to much of Arcade Fire, but I will have to take a closer look now.

When I was dating my now wife, she couldn't understand how I enjoyed Sigur Ros so much as their lyrics are either Icelandic or made up. She then accompanied me to a show during Hvarf/Heim and she completely flipped her script. Hoppípolla was played at our wedding.

Your list is pretty close. I might swap The Bends for In Rainbows, White Album for Revolver, and add Death Cab's Transatlanticism somewhere but that's about it. If you'd have told me I'd spend my 1,000th post 10 years ago talking about Sigur Ros I'd laugh at you, but here we are.

Happy Collecting

One I forgot to mention and I'm sure will leave a lot of head scratching. If I had two Wagners I'd give one to someone if they honestly knew who this band was.

Truckfighters - Gravity X

Beatles Guy 04-28-2016 07:21 AM

I was listening to Queen's "A Night At The Opera" last night on vinyl (yes vinyl), and that one is creeping ever so closely to my top 10.

Good stuff. They didn't make my list, but my son's middle name is Mercury. I figure that counts for something.

That counts :) My son's name is Jude if that tells you something about me and The Beatles :)

darwinbulldog 04-28-2016 12:50 PM

"Jude" himself:

I wanted to name my daughter Anastasia, but that was vetoed by my wife (decidedly not a Tori Amos fan). I'm guessing that might not have been a problem for you.

Beatles Guy 04-28-2016 02:06 PM

Not a problem at all. As soon as I suggested it, my wife said "that's it". She's a fan too :)
