Index Card Sleeves/Envelopes

I wanted to take a moment to get some feedback on the products you use to store signed index cards. I haven't had much luck finding sleeves and have used the Card Saver 3's. Thanks in advance for sharing.

The sleeves are a real pain to find, as are the top loaders which snugly fit 3X5s. Try www.shopbck.com and ask them. They're really nice guys from the Chicago area. They set up at the National which is where I've purchased both types from them. They've told me that they only charge actual shipping costs should you wish to have some shipped.

Whoever you're dealing with when buying either of these, it's always best to ask them to try sliding an index card into the sleeve/top loader to make sure the fit is correct. It's so common to end up with ones that are a bit too tall on the height or just a touch short lengthwise, and nobody wants those.

You may also wish to scout around on philatelist supply websites if you're OK with those glassine type of envelopes which also fit 3X5s. They're a bit too cloudy and papery for my taste, but if your main goal is to protect rather than display, these may prove to be your cheapest option.

I agree that they are very hard to find;but i also have found on occasion [and mostly at the national show]not only the 3x5,s but have also seen 4x6 by the same company if i recall and they are great for autographed government postcards.

Jon,
I use 4 x 6 toploaders and I find they work great, especially with GPC's and RPPC's

Yes, the 4X6 top loaders are great for your described purposes.

Insofar as 3X5s are concerned, the top loaders that were designed for a snug fit just look far more slick and don't leave your index cards floating around loosely inside of them. Also, if you store your index cards in library card catalog drawers, the 3X5 top loaders will fit in there.

Card Saver IV’s all the way. They can be tough to find sometimes, but they’re great and don’t take up as much space
