Posted By: Anonymous
If you have a handy list of T205 Hofers, can you please let me know who they are. I want to buy 1, if not more pre-war Hofers cards. Who are some of the more affordable ones? Thanks sooo much for your help.

Posted By: ItsOnlyGil
If you are going to buy 1, I wouldn't buy the cheapest. I would buy Hugh Duffy.

Because he was also a 19th century star, once hitting around .440 - who else has done that?

And not that bad a cost when compared to many HOFers.

But if you have to comprimize on condition, go for back damage - the borders on the t205s are crucial (to me).

Good luck + have fun. It is only cards.

Posted By: DJ
I just looked at the HOF prices on the estimator (the prices are a little out of date) but Duffy is the only HOF'er listed at $50. Most are $60+ including Marquard.

DJ

Posted By: Charlie O'Neal
I would suggest looking at the completed listings on eBay. This is the most accurate way to determine a price for a card.

Since it seems like to me that you are new I would suggest just buying a couple of graded commons so you know that your not getting a fake and it gives you an idea of what to look for as far as the makup of a card. The price is not that bad for a common graded a 2 normally goes for around $15 - $40. One of these could give you an idea if you would like collecting these types of cards without damaging your wallet to much. I just looked on eBay and a graded 3 Duffy went for 100.00. Buying the cards ungraded can be cheaper but also carries more risk. If you decide to go this route I would study up on the cards first and then try to get some feeback from the board as to which sellers are dependable. I hope this helps.
