TODAY ONLY eBay 15% Off coupon - PERFECTGAME

TODAY ONLY eBay 15% Off coupon - PERFECTGAME

According to the eBay flyer this is supposed to work on Sporting Goods but it DOES work on cards. I just used it to save $100 on a card and also got 8% eBay Bucks.

This coupon has been mentioned in the other 15% off thread but I thought it needed to be posted in a separate thread

savedfrommyspokes 12-14-2018 01:05 PM

Worked like a charm just now on a card, thank you for the heads up!

STL1944 12-14-2018 01:43 PM

Worked for me as well!

Saved $35 on two cards. Was the extra incentive to have me pull the trigger.

Thank you!

gregr2 12-14-2018 01:51 PM

Worked as advertised, thanks!

When you make an offer on a card when there is a 10% or 15% coupon, what do you include in the message to the seller? Or, don't you include a message.
In the past I have indicated that I would like them to respond that day because of the discount. Anything else I should include?

bobbyw8469 12-14-2018 01:56 PM

Unfortunately, 15% off only makes high priced cards normal. What is the biggest percentage Ebay has given away recently? 25%?

jimjim 12-14-2018 02:15 PM

Wow. Wish I had the eBay bucks offer

eliotdeutsch 12-14-2018 02:19 PM

Me too. So ridiculous. I rushed to pay for something today. Knowing my luck I’ll get the offer Sunday ...

david_l 12-14-2018 02:34 PM

Hmm. Didn't work for either of the cards sitting in my basket.

Anyone can use the 15% off offer. All you have to do in enter the promo code when you check out

bobbyw8469 12-14-2018 02:39 PM

The fine print says it is SUPPOSED to be only for Sporting Goods. Maybe they fixed it so it only applies to that?

Exhibitman 12-14-2018 02:53 PM

Look for a seller offering its own sale or discount. I picked up a bunch of items from a seller offering a 30% off deal with free shipping. Got 15% off 70% of the list price, a net 40.5% discount. Made several slightly overpriced cards very attractive buys. And I can do it again on Sunday with the next coupon!

bobbyw8469 12-14-2018 03:24 PM

I repeat...the coupon says SPORTING GOODS only. I hate for buyers to commit and not get a good deal.

savedfrommyspokes 12-14-2018 03:25 PM

Still works on my end, possibly one of the best deals to date on ebay.....a card priced at $667 or less, a 23% savings is possible between the 15% coupon the the 8% back in ebay bucks.

It does say sporting goods but it works for cards. Ball cards are listed under SPORTS MEMORABILIA. When I first saw the promo I ignored it because of the sporting goods thing. I saw a couple guys on the CU forum post that it worked for cards so I tried it. Saved me $100 plus I got 72 eBay bucks.

JollyElm 12-14-2018 03:52 PM

Any idea what time this ends today/tonight?

Bobby, I made a Best Offer on a T206 PSA 5 and it was accepted within 5 minutes. I used PERFECTGAME and saved another 15%. This brought the price down within reason.

:)

The trick is you have to find new listings that people made before they knew the coupon was going live. I've also had luck by winning auctions or BIN listings and keeping them in my cart until the coupon hits. I had a pile of PWCC and probstein winnings that I was holding for combined shipping, but I went ahead and checked out with this coupon. I got what I felt were good deals on those cards, so the 15% coupon turned good deals into outright steals.

edit: how are you guys getting 8% ebay bucks? I just got the standard 1% on my purchase.

Bridwell 12-14-2018 04:47 PM

Promo

It just worked for me! Saved $48. Thanks!

You have to be signed up to receive eBay promotional emails. Then you have to be invited to be included in each Bucks promotion

david_l 12-14-2018 05:22 PM

It’s strange. I tested it out a few times. The code seems to work for baseball cards but not boxing cards. Too bad.

JollyElm 12-14-2018 05:29 PM

My eyes hurt from scouring ebay and constantly checking the auction prices realized site to see if anything I was looking at could be had for a decent bargain after the discount. Ended up grabbing a PSA 6 1966 Mantle and a PSA 7OC Ryan rookie.

I looked and looked and couldn't find anything.

sb1 12-14-2018 08:03 PM

One caveat, it won't work on all categories, just under the sports heading, which includes sports cards. I bought a Non-sports card and it won't take the code. I will just wait until sunday and use the new code which should cover everything.

ccre 12-14-2018 08:09 PM

Saweet! Worked for me + 8% ebay bucks. Thank you!

sb1 12-14-2018 08:16 PM

Does anyone know when the 8% ebay bucks promotion expires?

JollyElm 12-14-2018 08:43 PM

The ebay bucks thing drives me crazy. I am signed up for the notifications, but I never get the notifications people here are always talking about. What the heck am I missing?? All the right boxes are checked, yet I get nothing sent to me. Once in a blue moon, I get a message on ebay, from ebay, alerting me of an ebay bucks promotion, but that's it.

I saw that Ryan card and almost went for it. What price did you get it for?

I had the same issue. I asked eBay customer service why I was never included in the promos and was always told that users were picked at random. I asked 3 or 4 times over the course of about 2 years. The last time I finally talked to someone that actually wanted to help. She suggested that I chance the email address that I had attached to my eBay account. She said that somewhere along the line eBay had an issue with my email address. A lot of the emails I used to get from eBay went into my spam folder for some reason. This probably had something to do with the issue. Anyway, I created a gmail email account just for eBay. Since changing the email address I have gotten almost all of the Bucks promo emails. Even now I usually get notifications by checking my eBay messages on the eBay site before I get the promo emails on my gmail account

DeanH3 12-14-2018 10:10 PM

I too suggest using a new email address. I had the same problem. I NEVER received any bucks promos. Changed email address and boom, started getting them regularly.

It's weird, I didn't know what the price 'should' be, but when I saw the card (including shipping, it was listed for around $423) I instinctively thought, "Even without the discount, that seems like a pretty good price for a relatively solid, high grade Ryan rookie." It was the only 7 OC listed on ebay and when I looked at a ton of straight 5's and 6's for comparison, they were all seemingly priced much higher than that (some ridiculously so) and had virtually the same centering as the one I was looking at, although oddly enough, none had qualifiers (see the many examples/ebay screenshots posted below)...so I did some quick research on pricing and decided to jump on it.

The adjusted price was around $360.

The last 5 sales of PSA 7 OC's were:
$469.99
$290.00
$400.00
$450.00
$800.00

It was still pretty damn expensive, but a decent grab nonetheless, because straight 7's are priced so much further up in the ionosphere.

I got the SGC 3 Ryan. Been wanting that card for over 30 years and finally pulled the trigger. I actually paid less than what the eBay sale shows as he sent me an offer after I messaged him. I’m surprised eBay doesn’t reflect that. Either way I was south of $190 with the coupon. It was in line with other comps but an additional $18 in eBay bucks made it a pretty nice deal.
