Any reports from the Chicago National ?

I heard they were expecting 100,000 people . I am sure the show is crowded.
Like to hear what people bought, sold and thought of the show.

I noticed a lot of good prices on off grade raw vintage.

Graded middle to high and vintage forget it the dealers are asking 150% of the value/average sold prices.

Oh, man, off-grade raw vintage is right in my wheelhouse. Wish I could have spent the last week picking and looking for Carl Hubbell cards instead of moving my father into assisted living. At least I won't have to do that ever again.

I was at the National on Thursday. It was quite busy. I spent around half the day shopping with my son and the other half helping a friend at his booth. My main concern was 1961 Topps baseball. I did find several for my set. As mentioned above the graded vintage was quite pricey. I did see a lot of new shiny stuff both graded and raw, but those were booths that I went by quickly. Overall I had a good time and a great day with my son. We just went one day as my son had people in from out of town coming and my grandson's beach soccer tournament. My son did finish a couple of sets that he was working on.

They likely set an attendance record. Too bad almost none of the restaurants and hotels in the area had any idea there were so many people coming in! So many places were not open for lunch, closed way too early or just ran out of food.

Ran out of food in Chicago? Unreal.

Have you seen the size of some of the dealers at the National?! :D

Jabs Family

Of course, there were tons of reports on You Tube about the National.
An interesting one was on the Jabs Family channel. He bought a complete 1951 Bowman set, with a graded Mantle and Mays, for under $30,000.
That is interesting to an old set collector like me.
