Hank Aaron auto ball opinions

A friend of mine is helping to go through a large collection that a friend of his acquired and one of the items included is an autographed baseball with a Hank Aaron autograph on it. I told him that I can ask on here for opinions regarding it. Since he already knows he can't say "it is legit, some people on a forum said so" then the basic question is whether or not it is likely a legit auto, so that it can be sent into to be authenticated.

If the picture is not good enough, let me know and I can try to get a better one. These pictures you can click to make them larger.

And here's the provenance. The fact it comes with this COA adds to the reason why an opinion would be sought before wasting any time with paying for authentication.

Personally, I don't like it; it looks too shaky and slow, and the "H" is all wrong.

Regarding the Score Board certificate; the problem with them is that nothing ties the certificate to the signed item. Someone could keep the actual item the certificate came with, and replace it with a fake, and no one would know. The certificates themselves, have also been faked.

Steve is spot on, and I agree with everything he wrote.

I wouldn't touch that particular Aaron. The "H" looks atrocious. The last name is way too shaky for it supposedly being from the Score Board time frame. I say Not Authentic.

I have to agree with the guys above that I wouldn't touch it.

However, it is possible that it is a "STAR" Aaron and maybe authentic???I'd give it about 5% chance. Really would want the ball in hand, better pictures or both, including the back of the ball which, I'm assuming is William White/Coleman/Giamatti? In regards to the Golding cert, I'd want that in hand as well to at least determine if that's real. Still could be swapped or added after the fact.

Good luck!
