I picked this up after being the underbidder on at least 5 similar programs in as many years. Worth the wait for an opening day example.
Scored through the 7th inning the lineup, the score, along with the 1st game 1905 written on the cover. Tell the story of Iron Man Joe Mcginty's opening day win and the original owners early exit as the home team was up 10 to zip when he left. Boston would put up 1 in the 8th denying McGinty a shutout but the Giants were well on their way to a second stright NL pennant and their first World series win.

In the first inning, after Sewell walked and the Babe singled, Gehrig hit HR #268 of his career.

Lefty Gomez gets his third opening day win in two years (he had two in 1932 when they started on the road, and he got the win, then he got the win in their first home game).

April 15, 1954 Milwaukee Braves Opening Day program

The Braves opened the season in Cincinnati on April 13, where rookie Hank Aaron made his MLB Debut with an inconspicuous 0-5 showing in a tough 9-8 loss to the Redlegs.

They arrived in Milwaukee to almost 40,000 strong on April 15 to take on Stan Musial and the Cardinals. Playing his 2nd career game and first home game, Aaron fared much better, collecting his first MLB hit (a double) in the bottom of the first and a second hit in the 3rd inning, scoring his first run. He finished the day 2-5 and the Braves prevailed 7-6 on a Danny O’Connell walk off single in the 11th. Warren Spahn picked up career win with an 11 inning, 11 hit, 6 run, 4 walk, 3 strikeout, complete game effort.

Bonus: this exact program was owned by Bob Botz, a local prep pitcher attending the game with his future wife Arlene. Before the next season, he would sign with his local Braves and eventually surface in the majors as a relief pitcher for the 1962 Angels.

Billy Queen and Ray Crone also made their ML debuts that day.

Here's that Opening Day game...

Don’t have any opening day scorecards, but wanted to participate and share my game used baseball from Red Sox at Yankees Opening Day in 1959, from the Bob Turley collection.
