Posted By: barrysloate
"Niagara Falls" is actually an Abbott and Costello routine. Every time someone says "slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch..." Costello gets beaten up.

Posted By: Mark L
According to the Niagara Falls Reporter, the Niagara Falls routine was performed on film by BOTH the Stooges and Abbott and Costello in 1944. But even then it was an old vaudeville routine which has been traced back to a comic named Joey Faye. (I am a professional pedant.)

Posted By: barrysloate
Doesn't surprise me that many others did it too. Everything seems to originate from vaudeville.
