November Pickups
Haven't been able to post one of these in awhile. I still need my same 3 but a nice size upgrade for me on Cole

Sold some cards recently, and excited to pick these ones up in return... especially excited to land one of the Uncle Jimmy Jimmies, though no idea why it's posting sideways. |
Helluva start to the thread this month.

Wow, that Foxx is incredible. That's an India ink signature from a time when people cared about their signatures. I snuck in and got a 33 Ott and Hubbell while the focus was on that beautiful signed stuff. I hope whoever consigned these two cards knows how much I appreciate our mutual centering OCD.

Broke the bank with this purchase of 43 different 1933 Goudey cards. Am not chasing the set but I just love the cards, even the commons. |

The Sweet cap just got added to my modest Matty dark cap back run. Would always be interested to hear what you might have to offer, on backs I don't have here!

Still slowly moving along on these if anyone has any of the short prints available.

Not a Common Cobb

This not one of the more popular Cobbs
But I like the look of this one |
Fantastic Cobb! And it sure is one of his more popular ones - love it!

Those '33 Goudeys just pop, guys. Really nice. I got back into that set last year, picked up a bunch at the National and had a great time hunting down nice ones.

Sorry for not being prewar, but my only recent purchases. A couple of HOF upgrades. Sorta bummed about the cracked case on the Schuerholz. Apparently, happened during transit - not the seller's fault; bubble wrap packaging looked totally adequate. Oh well, the card is fine. Also, finally found a Type I photo of Milton Richman - the HOF sportswriter, who played briefly in the minors. Aw... executives!! (yawn)

I'm really excited about this one. Not an easy card to find in any condition, and this is as nice a 2 as you'll see (a small corner crease and bit of paper loss over the already white bottom border).

Received my first 1954 Topps Hank Aaron RC in the mail today:

T3

Thanks to Ron for the T3 McIntyre variation that I needed. Now just down to Walsh and Tenney (NY and Boston) to complete the T3 set.

Holy crap. Awesome month so far - two t227 Cobbs, tons of t213s, T206 HOFers and SLers. There are too many great pickups to recognize individually, but I must give a shout out specifically to the M131 Baltimore Newsboy... those are tuff! And Michael’s freak is totally awesome and unique.

I had to have at least one example. I'm assuming you have the Newsboy Cobb, one of the rarest cards in the hobby. Feel free to post an example of cardboard porn. |
