Topps, Bowman, Fleer. etc., let's what you have ...

Those are great. Love the '65.

ASF123 12-07-2020 10:05 AM

Very cool.

On a related note, has anyone come up with a good way to display cards in top loaders? I'm aware of the one specialty binder, but it's quite expensive.

Here's an unusual display box that I picked up not too long ago. It was described as a 1966 cello box. I have not been able to find any other examples while searching the internet and would be interested in any information regarding exactly what year it's from. I'm pretty sure it's not a '67 cello box as the examples I have seen of those held 48 packs and are a bit larger in size.

Been getting into these for awhile and looking for a 1963 Topps and 1965 w/ embossed ad front...and odd ball boxes.

Hello Nomad. Your box is a 1964 . I’ve started collecting these since 1982 and seen very few of this one.

I've only ever seen one unopened pack of this series, never seen the box. Congrats, that is an especially nice example.

Great display David

GasHouseGang 12-10-2020 02:31 PM

Wonderful display David. You must have every Wiffle Ball box ever made.

OldSchoolBaseball 12-10-2020 02:54 PM

Nope. Still need a couple different ones and any display pieces/oddball items but enjoy that little Wiffle segment.

A generic Topps Trading Card Guild box like this is very rare but they do exist. The All-American header is likely the only one that exists. (oops - I have multiples). I believe it is an image of 1951 Heisman winner Dick Kazmaier. Topps would just stamp the sport that was enclosed on the side of the box. This says "FOOTBALL". I have seen the same TCG box that was stamped "RAILS AND SAILS", however, I have never seen one stamped "BASEBALL". Have you?

I also wanted to show an unusual point of sale display pack. Never seen another. Most people believe the set of 5 players (which isn't rare) was only available through mail away (it was as I've seen the cardboard display) but also must have been available in stores with 3 bar purchase - probably border states only. Shrink wrapped and nice shape. Thought I would share a pic...

ALR-bishop 12-11-2020 03:02 PM

David-- I have a set of those but was not aware they were marketed that way. Thanks for sharing. Great item

Love all the boxes everyone. I just got started collecting empty baseball boxes 1950-1970 and checking to see if anyone has any available. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays to all.
