Question about PSA's authentication services for potential retraced items

Hi,

I have a question regarding a potential retraced item and was wondering if anyone experienced anything similar with PSA/JSA/Etc.

I submitted this piece to PSA and it came back with a quick questionable authenticity. In short - there are five very poorly fake sigs on this piece - Gehrig, DiMaggio, McCarthy, and Don Heffner/Red Rolfe on the back. I purchased this with a yankees lot and have since had a Mantle ball come back authentic.

My question/frustration is that in this submission, I was clear in my request that I wanted the signatures underneath the dark black poorly done ones to be reviewed. To me it appears that this may be a retraced genuine - The best evidence of the retracing can be seen on Rolfe Sig on the back, there are faint but sharp signatures underneath. Close review reveals this for all instances, including the Gehrig.

I'm not sure if PSA noticed or even read my paperwork with the acknowledgment of the poor retrace and request to see if they could even review the signatures underneath. I'm a little frustrated because the tape on my holder has not even been removed so the piece never even came out of the holder, especially when it ran me $464 to do so.

I asked for a call in my request form but did not get one and received the generic rejection letter stating all the factors that prevented them from certifying, with not reference at all to the potential retracing or signatures underneath the grossly exaggerated dark black signatures.

Has anybody experienced this with potential retracing? I understand retracing negates an items value almost entirely, but am feeling a little frustrated that no reference at all was even made to the signatures underneath, and am wondering if they attempted to review those instead. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
