Posted By: Joey
To me there is no doubt that the Crawford is about as fake as they come. Hmmm, where'e the artificial aging? No grimy old tobacco staining or dirt. On second thought maybe it is real;)

Posted By: Scott Elkins
he cannot tell a blatant T206 fake! I remember in Beckett's old price guides, they would list Red Cross, Coupons, etc. as different T206 backs (instead of different issues). I also remember they listed a "Hustler" back. I have only seen the "Hustler" back on non-baseball cards period. Though, I did always look for a baseball card with a Hustler back, as I figured there might be some baseball issue with that back to justify Beckett's adding them as a T206 back type.

Posted By: Texas Ted
The guy probably does not work for Beckett, but if he does I'm sure they will be delighted to see his using them as "reference" to the legitimacy of this card. My guess is either the auction or the guy will be terminated shortly.

Texas Ted
Posted By: dennis
it is shocking to not see the disclaimer in this guys auctions. imagine working for beckett and still not slabbing your cards in their holders? he now has added in his discription that he works at becket but bid at your own risk. makes becket look real professional.

Posted By: Mike P.
I emailed him and basically said his cards are some of the worst fakes I have seen and that if he works at beckett why not just get the card slabbed and remove all doubt of the authenticity.

HIS RESPONSE:
I'm sorry you feel this way. I do work at beckett, call and ask for Rob, I can even give you the number if you'd like. Like it says, the card came out of my grandfathers collection, exactly the way it is shown. I have a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth Beckett Graded 4 that I will be posting tomorrow, as well as a 1911 T205 Ty Cobb #30, Beckett Graded 5, which will post tomorrow as well. Check back and see the scans. Then tell me if it looks likes to you that I have to post fakes.. I am just looking to get rid of some stuff for my grandmother.

Posted By: WayneGrove
The guy doesn't work at Beckett as far as I know, and if he really did it would not be for long after doing something like that. They have pretty strict rules about things like that and even mentioning that he works at Beckett in order to sell something would be grounds for dismissal. I know all of the graders at Beckett and there is not a grader named Rob. I would further say that anytime you see a seller claiming that he works at Beckett that should send a red flag about the guys auctions just as much as saying that the cards came from grandpa's attic does. Just another scammer.

Posted By: Brian
I have complained and reported to Ebay on countless bogus auctions, including authenticity disclaimers and the like. Usually they do nothing, somethings they cancel the auction but don't boot the seller.

I wonder what criteria they used to NARU him; I'm happy to see it happen though!
