Posted By: <b>scott brockelman</b><p>i would guess more people on this board would have asked who's billy crystal? as we are a bit more disassociated from the real world somewhat more than others it seems.<br /><br />keith olbermann is a founding member of the hobby as we know it. setting up at shows as a teenager in the 1970's and during the 30 years following has assembled one of the finest vintage collections extant. and in his spare time was one of the original ESPN co anchors and after a gamble on the big time has settled in as a regular on MSNBC with varied programs.

In 1991 pop found about 9 News cards in a t206 collection he bought. 8 were the 1910 version and 1 1914 - Ruth. He saved 1 1910 for a type, sold the other 7 for $35 each and sold the Ruth for $1000. Obviously, I will never be able to replace this card. It is partly my fault, I was busy chasing skirts and wasn't as active in the hobby at the time or pop would have gladly saved all of them for me. Yes I am still sick over it but there isn't much I can do about it. I have considered jumping or even an overdose of sleeping pills. Dan.

One source says it's the same; another says that the card sold was a red print one, at a Sotheby's auction I believe.<br /><br />With only 8 of these around I'd expect some huge results. Weren't the M101's going for hardly over $10k in the late '90s in NM-MT 8?<br />

I drive a simple old pick up truck because I can't bring myself to spend any real money on a VEHICLE that will DEPRECIATE over time instead of APPRECIATE!!<br /><br /><img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14><br /><br />Let's just say that I am investing in what I love to collect.
