e107 find/auction

Posted By: david
perhaps i missed the discussion about the sports cards plus e107 find in the mind numbingly large number of posts regarding how much a second rate vg t206 hof is worth or whether or not a 10 dollar ruth goudey bought off of ebay is a reprint or real. the find apparently was saved from the garbage and contains a number of significant hofs. it will be interesting to see if any of the cards have the overprint and if there are any type-2 cards.

http://sportscardsplus.com/html/auctions/121005/pre/page1.htm

Posted By: jay behrens
It is probably another case of people being gunshy about talking about hot items in auction that are not complete. Too many times, posts here seem to drive added actions to the auctions, so people that truely interested in items just won't talk about them anymore until the auction is over. And as is the case with Trevor and his ambrotype, people aren't even talking about recent wins until they get the item in hand because of fears the unscrupulous members of the board will try to make a backdoor offer the item.

Because of the highly competative nature of rare items, I son't even worry about discussion of these items turning up and auctions are closed and items are in hand. It's become the nature of the beast, which is kind of sad.

Jay

If you can sue a band for making you want to commit suicide, can I sue Barry Manilow for turning me into a wuss in the 70s?

Posted By: david
sorry hal, but your collection is too nice already and i couldnt stand to see you improve on it so i had to give you some competition on the cards. just think of how lonely the t206 wagner will be without a e107 next to it!

Posted By: Hal Lewis
I am certainly going to try for the "Triple Crown"...

but who knows what it will take?

The GOOD NEWS is that I am NOT going to bid on any of the OTHER E107's...

so everyone should save their money and bid on THOSE instead!
