Open for Bidding - Love of the Game Auctions' Spring Premier Auction

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well.

Just an update to let you all know that LOTG's Spring Premier Auction is open for bidding. The auction closes April 2.

This is a really special one. We've got a great variety of prewar material, and some really special highlights that I'm proud of.

First and foremost, with this auction we're offering a brand-new original artwork by our friend Graig Kreindler. The painting features Roberto Clemente, after having doubled in the 1972 playoffs. It's an incredible piece, made by Graig specifically for this auction. If you're familiar with Graig, he's currently got a moratorium on new commissions, so if you want to own a new Kreindler, here's your chance. In honor of the 50th anniversary of Clemente's passing, all proceeds from the sale of this piece will be donated to UnidosUS.

The auction has a large assortment of prewar baseball, a huge number of beautiful Exhibit cards, and some pretty unbelievable signed cards.

A few of my favorites:

-A T206 complete set of 520. With the Magie error also featured in this auction, we can get you to 521 with one auction.

A fantastic Hall of Fame autograph collection - nearly 240 different signatures all in one grouping.

A really nice (and really tough) 1921 Exhibits Babe Ruth - one of my favorite of all the Ruth cards.

An unbelievable signed 1925 Exhibits Walter Johnson. The signature on this is just beautiful, and perfectly placed - graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA.

A beautiful 1938 Goudey Joe DiMaggio with a vintage signature, also graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA.

An awesome 1931 W517 uncut strip with a beautiful Babe Ruth right in the middle.

Plus a host of Great Cards, some of the nicest midgrade Goudey Ruths you'll ever see, a bunch of fantastic sets ('41 Playball, '34 Goudey, and a host of Topps baseball and football).

Bidding is open right now. Please have a look, if you're so inclined:

Thanks, and good luck to everyone bidding or consigning!

As I read Al's poignant introduction to the new catalogue, I relived the love of the game. His stories evoked in me my own stories---the times when my own singles and doubles really mattered and still do somehow. And I felt the moments of elation, one again, which came with saturday games watched with pals on the floor in front of the TV (think '55 bowman card)---with Yankee cards acting as 'stiffeners' in our baseball caps.
Thanks Al,ol'buddy, for your great offerings in this catalogue and thanks for living and engendering the true love of the game. Proust: Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
P.S. for P.S. Hi, ole buddy
all the best, Barry

Great auction. Great cards and memorabilia. What else do we need.

It's nice popping open an auction and not seeing 34 Michael Jordan cards and a "gold refractor" listed in the top 10. Just sayin.

Punxsutawney Barry sees his shadow. Six more months of auction hyperbole.

And six more months of Bill complaining about it.
