kind of like an old goldin auction.

Carter08 11-18-2021 10:04 PM

I had to go to my bid list and put them in there - it was freezing up when I would bid on an item’s direct page. Sadly I’m outbid on what I really want.

babraham 11-19-2021 01:02 AM

There must have been a lot of people on there bidding at the end.
It was freezing every so often on me too while trying to place bids.

prestigecollectibles 11-19-2021 08:56 PM

The just extended tonight's session until tomorrow.

bounce 11-19-2021 09:07 PM

More BS from these auction houses

Making final bids less than 10 mins in front of extended and all of a sudden just extend everything to tomorrow

Terrible

LEHR 11-19-2021 09:25 PM

I’ve been trying to place bids the last half hour and it won’t confirm my bid. I just popped onto Net54 to see if others were having issues.

puckpaul 11-20-2021 11:46 AM

+1 I bid over on a variety of things and still fell short.

Some of the prices were alot higher than I thought like that 1916 Sporting News Jackson going for almost 60k

Yeah I was watching that Jackson as well and didn't expect it to go that high.

I was bidding on a different Jackson that I've wanted forever though...happened to win that one! Pretty excited, I'll post pics when I get it!! :)

Overpaid on Thursday, underpaid on Saturday.

Agreed but sadly what I wanted was on Thursday
and I was not willing to Overpay
So I struck out
On to the next Auction

Snapolit1 11-21-2021 09:01 AM

Sometimes you have to overpay today to get what you want and watch the price catch up. I recall waking up in a cold sweat the day after some house closings convinced my life was ruined. They all worked out. And then some.

Flintboy 11-21-2021 09:12 AM

Maybe some Heritage employees were the big winners!

Snapolit1 11-21-2021 09:29 AM

Watched a few nice photos last night (Jackie, Josh Gibson, 23 Yankees) and the prices were a good 25% higher than I expected. At least.

Oscar_Stanage 11-21-2021 09:37 AM

A few Green Cobb 3s went for under 10k. This is a significant drop for a benchmark card.

A PSA2 sold for $8700, I didn't follow the 3s but that's surprising.

Plus the Williams rookie photo $43k.

Wow. Is that the '41 Play Ball image?

Agreed Steve and sometimes I do and we all need to.

However, I put a "cap" on what I feel is the right amount to "overpay" and if exceeds that number then I chose not to go over that.

I do not think so.

Probably the same photo session, but Williams’s mouth is open on his Play Ball cards.

LEHR 11-21-2021 02:48 PM

For the first time I won something from two different Heritage departments on the same night (a poster from the movie poster division and a photo from the sports auction). Does anyone know if HA will invoice/ship these two items together, or will it be separate invoices and shipping charges since it's from two different Heritage divisions?

ullmandds 11-21-2021 03:03 PM

Does anyone know how to wire payment?

Why the huge price then? Someone jumped on the Williams rookie photo today that's been on ebay forever with a 2900 BIN.

Jeff - No idea, but they are definitely not the same image.

I've bought several items from seperate divisions at the same time and everything was sent individually. I assumed they were coming from different parts of the country since Heritage has locations all over America, indeed all over the world. Sometimes they ship quickly, sometimes not. I currently have a paid auction invoice from two weeks ago that hasn't shipped yet.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think about these possibly coming from two different locations.

First time Heritage customer. I am surprised they get away with taking a few weeks to ship cards. they blame it on the 'time of year' but its just a poorly run business. I've used a half a dozen auction houses and they all ship within 2-3 business days at most. I'll stick with REA and others. unacceptable to collect 20% on significant sale prices and treat your customers like this.

My first transaction with Heritage as well.
Won a card on Thurs Nov 18, they sent me the invoice Fri Nov 19.
I paid it Mon 22 after the weekend.
I just got an email from them today saying that it should be shipped out tomorrow Dec 3. I assumed that it had already shipped out like a week ago. Ha! Guess not.
I know that Thanksgiving was in the middle there, but I didn't realize that it would take that long just to ship out.

Shipping in 2-3 days is hardly the norm for most AHs. It is the rare exception in my experience that ships out that fast.

Some of the AHs that advertise on this site are run by a couple of people. Expecting your order to be shipped in 2-3 is a little unrealistic. Yes, I realize Heritage doesn't fall into that category, but they sell many different things besides sports cards. And hardly a poorly run company. Could they be faster? Sure.

The auction ends at midnight, they get my wire by noon the next day and
Lelands, FLOTG, REA, Goldin, Collectors Connection, all have my order out the door in 2-3 days.
Do you think people who drop 10k-50k on cardboard are served like this any other arena? its a terribly run business

ullmandds 12-04-2021 07:14 AM

My heritage win was paid by wire transfer(to expedite shipping) 11/18...I have received no word of payment received or anything regarding shipping.

I also have a few fine art items in their upcoming fine arts auction.

I knew I was a small fish...just didn't realize how small!

BRoberts 12-04-2021 09:11 AM

I would not feel slighted, Pete. Apparently this is standard operating procedure for most auction houses.

Exhibitman 12-04-2021 09:27 AM

#metoo. Paid online, still no word of shipping. Sent a check for LOTG; I will have the cards before HA even ships.

lol, me as well. My comment about prices was not about me specifically, but the general price of T206 cards at the auction. If buyers are paying $10k + for all of those Green Cobbs, I'd think they would ship them in-line with the other AHs. no one I know has received any cards or notification of shipping.

perezfan 12-04-2021 04:56 PM

Same here... still no shipping or tracking info from Heritage. They did tell me on the phone that the holidays and staff shortages were delaying things more than normal.

LOTG on the other hand, got my parcel to arrive 6 days after their auction ended. And that included transit from coast to coast. Very impressed!

rdwyer 12-04-2021 05:13 PM

What about payments to consignors. I've been waiting 2 weeks for payment. They want me to stop payment and trust USPS again. Shouldn't take 2 weeks first class from Texas to California.

They could put the cards on a mule train and they would arrive before Heritage's shipments would even leave the Heritage compound.
