Need Help with Baseball Stats

Hello again everyone, I haven't posted in a while but I need help with a project I am working on. If anyone has scans they can send of Spalding Official Baseball Guides from 1908-1913, and the Spalding official baseball record from 1908-1913 it would be a big help. I do not need the entire thing just the sections on the bluegrass league. I am doing a research project on the league. I know the library of congress has a few of the official baseball guides digitized from these years, but not the other ones. I checked SABR's library resources and they don't even have them avaliable. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

Tony

Spalding Guides - The Ernie Harwell COllection

Tony:

Ernie Harwell contributed his extensive collection of baseball related material to The Detroit Public Library. Specifically, they have the Spalding guide from 1912 and several other years. Here is the link:

http://www.detroitpubliclibrary.org/...g_baseball.htm

Since this is only a digital image of the cover, you will need to call and see if they can help you with the contents. Let me know if I can help, I am in a NW suburb of metro Detroit.

On another note, Ernie contributed his collection of over 250,000 baseball cards, including some Allen & Ginter, OJ's, etc. The DPL in their infinite wisdome stamped the back of some of the key cards like this N28 of John Ward with a stamp that indicates it is now the property of the Detroit Public Library.

The DPL also has a section titled "Women in Baseball" (if someone could alert Joanne to this thread, I know she has an interest in this). Unfortunately many of the items are not catalogued and you have to make a visit in person to view the items.

Let me know if I can help.

Ouch - seeing that stamp hurts. But I guess that makes it less likely the card will grow legs.
