Joe DiMaggio display ideas?

2 Attachment(s)
Am looking for ideas on how to display my Joe D card in my new Hall if Fame “card cave”

For my top/fave cards, I am trying to find unique, cool and modestly priced ways to show off each VIP player/card.

I’ve included a few examples of what I have so far for other players

Any suggestions for Joe D? There are some great mag covers I am considering but I wonder if you all have come across other ideas for something like this?

Thx 54’ers

Jeff

Something like this as a background, measures 12 x 16 inches, or maybe a signed ball to go with your card.

Thx! Although those might be a little pricey for me... trying to keep my budget low but still looking for creative/cool/different. That Yankee logo would be hard to show prominently as a Red Sox fan - my family might have something to say about that!😬

Red Sox fan?
What are you even doing with a Yankee in the house, shame on you.

What does modest imply? $20 or less? I would suspect with Joe D you could find a relatively cheap type 1 or type 2 photo. There are lots of magazines. Also consider ads (Wheaties, Camel cigs, Louisville Slugger). My LS ad highlights Foxx and Lombardi, but there are others with Dimaggio in the front.

Yep, my budget is probably up to $50 for the right background object.... love some of those mags.

Sorry, but not sure what “type 1 or type 2” photos means. And what does “LS” stand for?

Thx for the ideas

Thinking outside the box here since you aren't a Yankees fan.

How about a reprint cover of original playboy issue with Marilyn Monroehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d1e1237a17.jpg

Type 1 photos are original, printed near date taken. Type 1 are more expensive. Type 2 are photos from negative but printed 5+ years later, but still high quality. These are les expensive. Type 3 are photos of a photo, lower quality, least expensive.

LS was abbreviation for Louisville Slugger. There are some cool ads you can find for $50!

I usually display a card with an autographed baseball or a statue (mostly Danbury Mint). I have about 30-40 displays of MLB HOFers in my basement family room.

Nice... I like the statue idea. That would add some dimension to my display (either that or the Marilyn Monroe Playboy mag - also “in play!”)

A bit off-topic, but I visited the site of Joe D's birthplace out here in Cali, and took a picture of the plaque. If you have any interest or think it can fit in with your set-up, I'd be happy to forward you a pretty high-res jpeg of it. Just shoot me a PM...

He paid our little league a visit when I was 12, prob 1962. He signed my glove and his pic in the book "Big Time Baseball".

You had Joe D. come to your little league? Nice. I had Howard Johnson come to mine. Woohoo! But seriously, I was still excited that a major leaguer was there at our awards ceremony. I still have the ball he signed for me in my collection and a wonderful memory of that day.

Nice displays guys!

I like how the OP has them glued sideways to the side of the wall in the left photo. Very creative.
