Crandall or Crandall?
 

Posted By: <b>John S</b><p>I hope someone can help me out with this one. The Colgan's checklist has a Crandall from Memphis listed as "Doc" Crandall. The other "Doc" Crandall, to the best of my knowledge, did not pitch in the minor leagues during the time that E254's were issued, so I am assuming that they are two different Crandalls. Question: What was Crandall's of Memphis first name (or did both players have the same nickname?)? <br /><br /><br /><br /><img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1209949076.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1209949103.JPG"><br /><br />The two Crandalls do resemble one another...possibly brothers?

Posted By: <b>Larry P.</b><p>I believe the New York Giants player was James Otis "Doc" Crandall.<br /><br />Not sure about the Memphis minor leaguer, but not the same guy.<br /><br />Maybe a distant relative of Jim Crandall.

Posted By: <b>Jodi Birkholm</b><p>Karl Crandall played for Memphis from 1910-12.<br /><br />Edited to add that this was Doc's brother. No MLB tenure as far as I can recall, but haven't double-checked.
