Travis (Tab) informed me that I had Charlies Rhodes birthday incorrect.
I corrected it in my original post, I had April 17 and his birthday is actually
April 7.

I'm also putting a list of the April birthday's in this post so everyone
doesn't have to go to the first page to look them up.

I really need to make some new scans. Here's an old scan, including Thornton.

On Greminger, at first, I thought the other back may be an overstrike, but then I remembered that he collects Brown Old Mill, so it must have been that one. I have a funny story about a stack of Old Mill SLer's in cardsavers, at a card show, (before grading took off). I was carefully looking at all the backs, instead of the fronts, and the dealer yelled out, "Give me my cards back! What are you looking at! Those are my cards!"

One of the few T206's that I have seen with Buck Barker "stats."

The top line is confusing: 03 SP.F --- 04 ??? ---- As Hummel's first year in Baseball was 1904 with Wilmington, DE of Tri-State Lg. In 1905 he was with Holyoke of the CT State Lg. I'm "assuming" SP.F stands for Springfield, MA, which was also in the CT State Lg. That Barker just made a mistaken memory notation.

Bro (Brooklyn) / Buf (Buffalo) / NY.A (NY Amer.) of course are right on.

Wid Conroy

2 Attachment(s)
William E. "Wid" Conroy. Utility player for the Washington Senators in 1909-1911. 1,257 hits, 22 home runs, and 262 stolen bases in 11 MLB seasons. He debuted with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1901. He had at least 384 plate appearances in each of his 11 MLB seasons. He was the first-string SS on the NL champion Pittsburgh Pirates in 1902.

He moved to 3B in 1903 with the New York Highlanders, twice leading AL third basemen in total chances per game. He was an opening day starter for the Highlanders for the first five years of the teams existence. In 1907 he swiped 41 bases second only to Ty Cobb. He finished his career with Washington and in one of his last games set an AL record with 13 total chances at 3B.

As an established star player at 32 years old, Conroy's 1909 acquisition was greeted with great anticipation in Washington. Unfortunately, he was not able to live up to the expectations and his playing career quickly petered out. Not however, before he was able to leave us these two cards.

McGraw mysteriously pointing finger in the air, perhaps an effort to convince the umpire that the slight drizzle was enough to call the game and award his Giants a victory.

Nice run Ted. I don’t own a McGraw yet. I really enjoy seeing everyone’s cards. They don’t have to be rare backs or high grade l like them all even low grade. Post away let’s see some more Ganzels Rhodes and Mcgraws.

Two of my 3 Rhodes runs. My favorite card in the set. Drum is listed as "confirmed" but I have yet to see any proof. Would love to see one if it exists. This was my first attempt at making one of these runs with scans. What do you think?

Nice Rhodes runs Travis. There are no Drums in the PSA or SGC pop reports
and I haven't seen a scan of one.

Brian, I think Mcgraw is supposed to be coaching 3rd base and signaling to a runner at first that there is 1 out.

Thanks Ted

Pat that Rhodes fact 25 is pretty tough. I know it was when I was building my first run. I own 5 examples now but I believe the only 2 tougher for me then to find was a cycle and lastly the CB.

I personally think a Bob Rhoades DRUM was mistaken for a Charlie Rhodes. I’m not even sure if Bob Rhodes is possible with a DRUM or if there any on pop reports. Could be one that was graded before they recorded back types or ungraded example. Either way if one exists the current owner probably doesn’t want me begging them to sell lol.
