Do you know if this Dunn exists with a DRUM back ?<br><br>I have never seen one, myself.<br><br>With Slagle &amp; Strang, you have the same situation as me with Delehanty.....it is tough enough to acquire the A-B-C-D combo <br>of a given player. But, if American Litho. (ALC) didn't print that Subject with a Coupon back, you are short of a Quintuplicate. <br>Indeed, ALC did not print in their 1910 Coupon series any of the 86 Minor Leaguers from the 350-only series of the T206 set. <br><br>As always, thanks for your inputs on this subject.<br><br><br>TED Z<br><br>

Posted By: <b>Ted Zanidakis</b><p>A Net54 reader emailed me with his near-Quintuplicate back set of George Hunter.<br><br>He has American Beauty, Broadleaf, Coupon, and Cycle......needs the DRUM back.<br><br>Hunter pitched for the Brooklyn Superbas in 1909. His Major League career ended<br> in May 1910. Therefore, I don't think Hunter was printed with a DRUM back.<br><br>But, one really never knows for sure about such things.....so, can any of you out <br>there in Net54-land vouch for a DRUM back on this card ?<br><br>TED Z<br><br>

Don't be sorry. I hadn't seen it. Looks like a cool challenge. Since I already have an Ira Thomas Drum, that would be the easiest place to start. Chief Meyers is the one I'd like to do. I have decent type 1s of Chase, Dunn, and Donovan. Anyone have a Drum of Meyers to trade for an Ira Thomas? Or a Type 1 Meyers for one of mine?

Meyers (portrait) is a 460-only subject....and therefore, does not exist with the DRUM back.

Myers (fielding) exists with the DRUM back.

Myers (batting) I expect will be found with the DRUM back.

The blue Hal Chase card is my favorite T206. I've been searching for years to find its DRUM card to complete my Quintuplicate sub-set of this Chase.
Has anyone out there seen this DRUM ? ...... I have never seen it.

In 2007, I introduced my "A-B-C-D" T206 back concept. Then, I expanded this sub-set to include the 1910 COUPON cards (some of us consider this set of cards
as part of the T206 set). These COUPON cards have the same stylized back design as the.....AMERICAN BEAUTY - BROAD LEAF - CYCLE - DRUM.....This series
of COUPON cards were issued circa Spring/Summer 1910. They apparently were a promo for this new ATC cigarette brand (which initially was distributed in boxes)
labelled "COUPON" Cigarettes. No cigarette packs labelled "COUPON" have ever been found.

So, I referred to this sub-set as the "Quintuplicate" challenge. As it presents an alternative "type" set to T206 collectors.

Since then, I have acquired the COUPON card of the blue Chase.

Sorry, no dupes of these, but I believe I have an extra T213-1 Thomas in poor condition. (still need.. Greminger, Hart-Montgomery, Hickman, LaPorte, Rhoades).

Ted, on the Coupon packs... Do you believe the pack with the Indian head on the front did not contain type 1 Coupon cards? I don't know much about packs, but have seen that pack shown as one that may have contained them.

I have seen a 500-cigarette carton labelled "COUPON". I have never seen a standard 10-cigarette pack labelled "COUPON".

I would say that the pack you are alluding to may have contained T213-2 or T213-3 cards.

Good luck on the Chase blue background run. That's a great run even without the drum. Also, Art M.'s runs are amazing. It would be quite a challenge to find all 5 for a run.
