Yes, I am aware that Evers was a left handed hitter. Still, the E96 card of Tinker looks more like Evers in build than Tinker:

I agree, Tinker was a heavy guy with thicker legs.

But the "C" isn't reversed so it's not a flipped negative thing. My guess would be, it's an image of Hofman. Same face, same build, right-handed.

Mark,

Thanks! Yeah, the Cub emblem was why I said in the title the thread was almost tongue-in-cheek.

I believe you may be onto something Brian. I think the build and especially the posture sings out Evers and that distinctively angular jaw line yodels out Johnny. And it still can be a reversed image, as quite often the makers added on the logos/team name afterward to make them more pronounced.

Here is a nice side view photo of Evers in his left handed batting stance.

Thank you, Brian, for both posts and the picture of Evers. Looking forward as well to other comments by members to see how everyone feels on the matter.

Brian

I love the hole in his sock.

I noticed that too, but was hoping to let Evers sneak back to the clubhouse and replace that sock before anyone else saw it.

Perhaps Johnny just doesn't give a darn.

Brian (always one ready for quality sock humor)

Can someone identify the stadium /park in the Evers photo?
