Surprise local find of a card I've been searching for a good while now.
Even with the typical toning, the '32 US Caramel cards are always really pleasing to me for some reason.

And a couple of post-war pickups came along with Big Poison.

Picked up one of my Unicorns.
About as high up the CJ14 ladder as I'm going to climb, just a few more to complete my run. Fortunately, I had a consignment do well so I could defray the majority of the cost.

Always willing to jump at the chance to pick up an O'Doul, even a somewhat blurry one like this 1933-36 Zeenut.

Picked up a cool barnstorming Ruth/Gehrig signed photo from Oct 12, 1928 along with some 1920 Universal Toy cards.
With Ruth and Gehrig cards approaching the stratosphere, the signed photo seemed like a bargain!!

Took a shot at a raw card and am pretty happy with the results: a Zeenut year that is tough to find with a coupon and a pretty good player as well (I assume this is Doc Crandall since the year and team matches up). According to Baseball Reference he won over 300 games when his major and minor league records are combined and according to Wikipedia he was in the inaugural class of the PCL Hall of Fame in 1943.

Another benefit of raw cards is that they scan much better (at least with my crappy scannner where I can't adjust the focus).

That is Doc Crandall, who evidently was the first MLB pitcher to be used consistently as a relief pitcher, and was given the nickname Doc by Damon Runyon who said Crandall was "the physician of the pitching emergency." Which of course is pretty cool.

Besides multiple Zeenut cards, Doc is also seen in the T205, T206, T207 and Cracker Jack sets, as well as others.

Net54 coming out of the gate strong like Medina Spirit.

Chris, that Yum Yum is amazing, you don't see those everyday.
Nice to see Matthew find an Ott that fits his centering ocd.

Bringing one of Leons 2015 Orphans back to the clubhouse. I believe its currently the only known example of an orange backed Weaver type 2 E100.

Crandall was also a very good hitter, and in 1914 for the St. Louis Terriers in the Federal League he was also used a second baseman. Which worked pretty well, as that year he went 13-9 with a .309 average and.429 OBP. He hit .285 for his major league career, and in the minors he hit as high as .356.

Not a card but I salvaged this page from a local guy for $10. Now was it a page from a ballpark program or programme?
