Ebay AI Authentication Is A Flop - M101-4/5

AI definintely can't be used for everything. Ebay needs to get their act together.

I emailed the seller first and he said an authenticator said it was good. Then.....

I reported this listing as a reprint. It's kind of obvious to almost anyone in the hobby that collects the series.

From the item in question:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Condition
Ungraded - Very good: Not in original packaging or professionally graded

Professionally Graded Graded

It features Hans Lobert of the New York Giants and has been professionally graded.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The inconsistency in whether it's graded or not, should be enough on its own to get it kicked out.

Also from the AI generated description, which appears to be based on the Item Specifics:

Quote:

This original, licensed reprint is a single card from the M101-5 Sporting News series. The card number is 102 and it is from the 1916 season, pre-WWII era.
AI is fun, isn't it? :D

I just reported it as a counterfeit as well and received this response:

"What happened:
We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent.

If you reported content that isn’t listed below, we’ll send a separate email once we’ve made a decision.

So, even the "customer service agent" thinks it is good as well. Kind of surprised how quick they respond to these reports though. They responded within 15 minutes of the report.

It gets better. It seems the item sold yesterday for $27.52
https://www.ebay.com/itm/26674519614...6143&recoPos=1
but you can still buy it in the next couple of hours as part of a five-card group (all doctored reprints):
