Fantastic pick-up for me this month! This is an original 1930 portrait photo of Hockey HOFer Dick Irvin with a vintage fountain pen signature dated December 7, 1930. Irvin had just finished up his HOF playing career, and in 1930 was in his first season of what became a legendary NHL coaching career:

This is my companion piece to the photo above - a high-grade example of Dick Irvin's tough rookie card (this was acquired a few months back):

Here's a 1968 Bobby Orr Promotional card with a vintage ball point signature from Orr himself (He doesn't sign his name like this anymore).

Here's an old one! A 1902-03 Portage Lake Hockey Club Team Postcard
that includes Jack Gibson (front row, far left). He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1976.

Just picked this up - 1925 National Champ Hillyard Shine Alls. Photo includes Hall of Famer Forrest DeBernardi (with mustache). Photo comes from the estate of George Rody bottom right, who also played for Phog Allen at KU prior to Hillyard.

1915 Portland Hippodrome
 

This 1915 Portland Hippodrome photo advertises the home opener of the 1915-1916 Pacific Coast Hockey Association season. The home team won 2-1 over Vancouver. Portland's skaters included Hall of Famers Moose Johnson and Tommy Dunderdale. Also shown for reference is one I posted before, the 1914-1915 Portland Rosebuds (aka Portland Uncle Sams) team; it includes a similar shot of the Hippodrome. As best I can tell the players in the larger images on the postcard are (top row) Mike Mitchell, Eddie Oatman, coach Pete Muldoon, hockey Hall of Famer Moose Johnson, and Ran McDonald, and (bottom row) Charlie Tobin, Art Throop, Smokey Harris, and unknown. In 1916, the Rosebuds were the first U.S. squad to play for the Stanley Cup (they lost to the Montreal Canadiens). Here are a couple of 1966-67 Rochester Americans items that include Don Cherry.

The SGC 84 I've had for a few years, but moved it from PSA to SGC. The SGC 88 I picked up raw on eBay. Bad pics, (0) feedback seller, but I took a chance on the Buy It Now. Worked out. :)

This was hiding in a binder for over 10 years. I forgot that a Parent rookie was part of my collection until I recently rediscovered it...feels like a new acquisition to me.

(elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966)

• Jean Beliveau Molson postcard from the 1960's. This one is cool because it is signed twice and
includes a personal note written by Beliveau himself, explaining where he was when this photo was taken

• A 1967 General Mills Bobby Orr with a sweet signature!

Here's a cool postcard I picked up. It's a 1938-39 Drumheller Miners Team Postcard that includes the famous Bentley brothers: "Scoop" Bentley, Reg Bentley, Roy Bentley, Max Bentley (elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966) & Doug Bentley (elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1964).

I got the 76-77 tall boys set today. I got it for a very nice price. However, today when I was trying to get through the packing tape and getting the box open, the scissors nicked the surface of the Erving #1. It is small and hard to notice, but it is drivng me crazy in an otherwise NM set with fantastic centering and great corners. If anyone has a raw sharp Erving for sale at a reasonable price, let me know.

Here are some of my items The first three are 54-55 topps I have most of the set in like condition Still need a four to complete. The marks on the cards are actually marks on my scanner I didn't clean the glass when I scanned the cards. There is a bower rookie, Cyclone Taylor printers plate from his time with Portland Lakes Hockey club (pre NHL) also a Roy Worters printers plate. He was the first goalie to win the Hart Trophy and Vezina trophy. The signature cards have many H.O.F. players and they were obtained at a 55-56 exhibition game between the Hawks and Bruins held in St Catherines Ont. The St Cathrines Teepees were Chicagos farm club. You will note that Don Cherry and Terry Sawchuk are on the same card. How rare is that? The Chicago sheet has Dick Irivin the legendary coach. This was his last year because he died of cancer shortly after. The rocket richard card is not real old but it is an original Autograph obtained during an oldtimers game held in St Thomas. The Johnny Pierson card is part of my complete set for that year and It is the only example of a blank back that I have seen anywhere. I have the complete master set (both back versions) for these including the album. I can post tons more if anyone is interested and would like to see them. I have tons of cards from the 50's that I am willing to trade if there is any interest.

I picked this up because I've never seen one before. 1982 ACC-tion game card of James Worthy. Part of an APBA-like dice game. It is about the size of a 1952 Topps BB card though wider. I'd call it a pre-rookie of Big Game James.

Here's one for the pre-rookie card collectors. A 1950-51 Pittsburgh Hornets postcard that includes George Armstrong and Tim Horton before they played for the Maple Leafs.

Here's something cool I picked up on ebay. It's a 1911 Vancouver Lacrosse Club postcard that includes hockey hall of fame player Newsy Lalonde (with the #10 on his chest)

Great postcard! I'd love to know how much you snagged that for. Lalonde was arguably the greatest lacrosse player of his time, so to have a good photo of him in uniform is sweet!
