Why are T206s on Amazon so incredibly priced?

Complete ripoffs. Dont these folks want to make some sales?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist my puzzled brain.

From what I've heard, Amazon seller fees are significantly higher than ebay.

I think I read the fees were 20%.

I also think they get the less-knowledgable relatives shopping there for gifts who may not be aware of true market prices or particular dealer sites

rip off on most cards, huge markups.i stay away.

I agree with judsonhamlin. I've gotten gifts of cards from people and I know that they mean well, but I know they overpaid enormously. So, if they were to see a card and see that it is over 100 years old, they might think it has significantly more value than it does.

Most of them are sub-contracted through comc.com. On comc, sellers have the option to cross-list on Amazon at their retail prices. But when sales on comc go on, they don't show up on Amazon. So a seller could mark all his cards 75% off (making an $80 listed card now a $20 bargain), but it will not propagate through Amazon. Better to shop on comc.com anyways since you can make offers to sellers through that and not just pay list prices.

Correct - fees are 20% to my knowledge and as someone else pointed out, COMC accounts for many of the listings.

for the same reason that

Dean's cards and tho0se who sell t206 PSA 7 commons for $5000.00 are overpriced. Something to do with what PT Barnum said I think
