Let's see the Pre-war suit and ties.

It's that time of the year pre-Covid where we had at least one event of suit and tie accord. Let's post cards and photos in honor of that tradition.

A few Yankees: a very dapper Mike Donovan in 1908; Andy Coakley, also Gehrig's coach at Columbia, Bubbles Hargrave and Garland Braxton from AL Service Bur. series on a park bench for some reason

Some ties from '32 and some Ruths

Cap Anson and Billy Sunday. No jackets required on the course.

The only suit/ties I have of players are W600 street clothes items; I do have several team pics where the coaches/executives look dapper, but they are not the main focus so I did not include

Walter Hagen, Jose Jurado, and Al Waltrous 1932 in Detroit - from a 4x5 glass negative. If you can play the sport while wearing a tie, is it really a sport?

Bobby Orr -already at the Christmas party sipping a cocktail. My Dad met him for some advertising event and Orr signed the back, so I've never figured out how to display it.

I do believe that is Tris Speaker in the suit up to bat taking a good swing. Am I correct? Very cool photo.

Everyone always thinks of Pepper Martin in his extra-soiled Gas House Gang garb. He cleaned up pretty nicely!
