Goudey reprints

Posted By: Sylvain
Hi guys ,I am new to this forum. I am hoping some of the regulars on this board could share tips on spotting 33,34 Goudey reprints. I normally buy only graded cards in order to minimize any losses but with more and more mistakes being made by the better grading services that logic is not holding true. Any help in this area would be great. On a different note ,my 9 year old says girls that collect baseball cards Rock , so Julie you Rock.

Not only will they know what's what, but are people you know will handle a problem if it should arrise. They will also be great sources of cards and knowledge in case you decide to go into different issues. I'm sure that many on this board could recommend some good sources, and might be good sources themselves.

I'm no advocate of graded cards, but I think it's a resonable idea for a starter to first buy graded cards (meaning graded PSA, SGC, GAI, etc-- not PRO or others). They make mistakes, but on the whole should be pretty reliable. I'm talking here about authenticity, not grade issues.

Sunday's Daily 'Quick Tip' specifically address counterfeitted Goudeys, so I will pas on detailing the tip here. Only those who get the 'Quick Tip' know what the hell I'm talking about in this paragraph.

One of the easiest ways to tell if a Goudey is legit is the bleedthru to back of the card from the color on the front.

Jay
