Here is an Original Display Box that the RARE Babe Ruth and WaJo cards came in years ago! The 3 boxes are full and 1 holds a card! Sadly it is a Cowboy :)

KILLER Box! Enjoy

Dan, are you saying that this really neat original Schapira Bros. counter display box was used both in 1921 for the little candy boxes similar to the ones you pictured that had the Babe Ruth cards on the boxes, and in 1921-22 for the little circus-animal-themed candy boxes that contained inserted black & white cards of many different players (1 card per box), including WaJo and Ruth (if the SGC pop report is correct)?

Many years ago, I had several of the little circus-animal-themed candy boxes (wish I had kept at least 1 of them) and several of the b & w cards. The only cards I still have are a WaJo (the nicer one below) and a Joe Judge.

That's amazing, Dan. Outstanding piece.

Amazing find! Curious to know if others have any of the inserted B&W cards like Val.

I am fortunate to own a wajo, and this Hornsby which appears to be the only copy known to exist. Thanks for sharing!

Nice Hornsby! I find it interesting that the photo quality/clarity on the Hornsby is so much nicer than what is seen normally with this issue (as seen in Val's Johnson and Judge examples...still cool cards). Looking at the Old Cardboard site that shows the majority of known subjects, only 3 or 4 approach the photo sharpness seen in your Hornsby. Congrats on having a card I (and I imagine most of us as well) have not seen before.

No Val I am fairly sure this display box was only for the little animal boxes 1922 as those were found with it buddy!

Hope you are doing super my friend!

that's awesome...I love the giraffe!

I always found the animal illustrations to be creepy. Kind of like the ghosts in the Minnie The Moocher cartoon.
