How to scratch 1981 Topps Scratch offs?
Has anyone scratched off the 1981 Topps Scratch-Offs? I have tried a penny, a quarter, edge of a stapler, a piece of wood, a Q-tip with alcohol and one with peroxide. None work. A friend wants some that are already scratched off and I have a lot of dups. Thanks.

Never tried, probably for the best.
The set was also available with no scratch off stuff, that might be the best way to go. |
Thanks, didn't know that. This is what we probably are seeing when we see ones that appear to be scratched off.

This probably belongs in the hockey card forum.

I think my buddy and I tried to throw them in a fire pit years back. I think the covering has hardened over the years. I recall being able to scratch them in the early 80s

I think the covering has really hardened over the years. I do believe it is now almost impossible to scratch off. I have a couple more things to try before I give up.
