Hake's Americana Auction
There was a thread on the BST regarding the Hake's Americana Auction.
Has anyone dealt with them before? Would you recommend them? Thanks - Rob |
i think it was removed as it was clearly spam/ advertising.. was the guy's first post.
I have never heard of them until i read the thing this morning and never checked out his link to see what he had. |
Thread is still there:
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=123923 Just want to see if this house is legit...seems like they have some decent stuff. |
Besides, a front page post is better then a BST post anyway :)
In all seriousness, I have never dealt with them. |
I have bought several items off Hake's (but that was when I collected toys). I think they are pretty reputable, been around for 40+ years. They are alittle over priced (in my opinion).

Hake's has been around for many, many years and is well respected in the collectible field.

LOL thanks Matt, I'd rather have a couple board members put my mind at ease instead of me being the naive guinea pig!

I have bought several items from Hakes and not had any problems. They are well respected and reputable in the collectibles field, as far as I am aware.

I spoke with their General Manager today. We had a nice chat. He seems like a good guy and wanted to post in the right place and not do anything that is frowned upon. That tells me a lot about their company. (and it's all good) I wouldn't be surprised if they are an advertiser in the future. The problem is our front page banners have been completely filled from day 1, three years ago. regards

Thanks Leon, Max and everyone else for the responses. I feel much more comfortable about bidding in their auction.

I won 3 early 70's Rak Packs from them, as well as some pins and a poster, several years ago in one of their auctions. Everything worked out great, no problems. Frank |
I've been a customer of Hake's since the early 1970s. Ted Hake is highly regarded and they have been offering sports-related collectibles for decades.
FYI, in 2004 Hake sold his company to Diamond International Galleries (which is owned by Steve Geppi, a minority owner of the Baltimore Orioles and Geppi's Entertainment Museum). |
