So I don't understand modern cards, and their multipliers, and yet here I find myself buying modern cards (and making some pretty dumb mistakes in the process).

Anyway, I think it is a really exciting time to be watching baseball, and owning some modern cards makes it a little more compelling. But I am prepared to lose my investment in these cards, as again I don't understand modern....

Nice cards -- The good thing is that Ohtani doesn't seem like the guy who's going to Wander Franco himself. Perhaps we've all overpaid for Ohtani's cards, but I don't mind having a few dead money cards of ostensibly classy guys.

If Ohtani has a productive rest of his career, hopefully his cards won't be "dead money"

Yes, indeed. I am sure I paid over the odds last year on a couple of his cards, but hopefully he grows into the valuation.
