With new info on hand, changing back to the original post. I was looking for opinions on the authenticity of this recently ended Ebay buy-it-now t206 Steinfeldt. I had mentioned there are none in the psa/sgc pop's and nothing in t206 resource checklists...

No way that card is real

MVSNYC 03-11-2022 10:38 PM

What was it?

RCFire82 03-11-2022 10:42 PM

Not hard to find in the ebay sold history, but in the interest of the buyer figured it'd be better to get some opinions in a few days...

The seller sold two and thy were both fakes I saw them when they were first listed.

The Steinfeldt was the portrait pose which is print group 1 and it's not even possible with an Uzit back.

Thanks Pat. That's the greater knowledge I was looking for. Good to be aware of this, should the card be listed again any time soon.

That portrait resolution is a dead giveaway also. Put a good picture side by side and you’ll see it.

Remember that a fake is a copy of an original without the printing plates. They cannot be as crisp with current technology ever as a real one.

The first one he listed was a Chance, I saw it when he first listed it and put it on my watch list. The listing didn't have T206 or Uzit in it but it still sold in about 15-20 minutes for $210.

Here's the chance images and both Uzits he sold next to real T206's. You can see how far off the print patterns are the Blue is Black and most of the other colors are darker too.

Hi Ryan

From the same group of reproductions that Steinbach was produced, here is a Cobb. I got it years ago. Then it was advertised as a reproduction.
The carboard these fakes were printed on is thicker than the real T206 cards.

The scary thing about this fake Cobb is that he is a subject printed in the 350/460 Series , which the real Cobb (bat off shoulder) was printed in
with the UZIT back. This fact could lead someone into thinking it was real.

If you put a top loader inside of a top loader, it makes your auction much more believable!

All enclosed in a resealable card sleeve to offer just one more layer of card concealing opaqueness.
