Hi, my name is Marty Kane, and I've been collecting caps since I was a boy in the late 1940s. Recently, I've decided to part with my collection and offer my caps for sale. I will post more caps in the coming weeks — I have a dozen or so from the '60s, and hundreds from the '70s, '80s and '90s. Only checks are accepted as payment, shipping is $6 for as many caps as you would like to buy, and insurance is extra. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.

1) Early 1950s Philadelphia Phillies game cap, McAuliffe, $425

2) Early 1950s New York Yankees game used cap, signed by Bob Cerv, McAuliffe, $750

3) 1951-52 Philadelphia A's cap, Mitchell & Ness, $750. I got this one directly from Mitchell & Ness.

Hey Marty,
Very nice caps!
I think the mid 60s WSox cap may be a player or coach other than Buzhardt as he only wore #30 during his years in Chitown. Bill Heath briefly wore #34, while I believe, coach Kerby Farrell wore #34 later that decade.

I'd be curious to hear what you have as far as 90s Yankees game used. Thanks!

Any Expos or Red Sox caps?

mets1 05-25-2018 03:57 PM

Bob M., you are correct about the White Sox cap. I appreciate the information ...

Chris, I have lots of Yankees caps from the 90s, including World Series caps, but they are all brand new. I also have an unused Yankees from the mid 1950s.

Bob, I have lots of Red Sox and Expos caps, mostly from the 80s and 90s, but a few from the 1970s, and they are all brand new.

These unused caps are all made by Ebbetts Field Flannels. There can't be too many of these old styles around. The company is best known for its minor league, caps, so it's surprising to see they made a couple old Philadephia A's caps. The caps are wool and extremely well made.

1) New York Knights, 7 1/2, SOLD

2) Early 1950 style Philadephia A's (navy blue), 7 1/2, $24.95

Here is a group of early Mitchell and Ness caps. The material is soft wool, the colors are bright and the undervisors are done in satin. These are some real beauties. I've attached a link to an article about them. The writer calls them "the best throwbacks ever," and I can't believe there's too many of these around.
