That's a great looking Mono!
I've made some good progress on T207s over the last month, including some HOFers and a couple tougher cards/variations. All of the cards in the first group are Recruits; the bottom five are the rarer backs, including two upside-down reverse backs that I posted in another thread a couple days ago. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e139e9cb_h.jpg |
Been after this one for a long time and finally got one. To me, this and the 1914/15 Cracker Jack Cobb, are two of the most beautiful baseball cards ever made.

Got lucky on this one. There's only 8 total graded between the two companies. Hope you and the family are well. |

1916 Boston Red Sox Cabinet Photo

Where did you find the Ruth photo? Beautiful.
|
Very nice pickup Jeff, congrats.

1916
Jeff:
What is the history of the 1916 cabinet? Same image and backing layout as the Stag Sweater advertising piece but different coloring. Ethan |
Some really great pickups, but a few specific shout-outs:
DJ -enjoy that Plank, he used to be mine. Awesome and super rare card. I am glad you own it. Scott - great T206 HOF combos and good looking to boot. Jeff - as usual, great taste, great pick up. Congrats! Can never go wrong with Ruth on the Red Sox, especially a piece as rare as that Phil - great month so far, nice gets Tony - great looking card per usual, except this one has the correct grade associated with it. Are you going to pop that out? BTW, please dont tell me that came from a former and notorious Net54 member??!! |
Hi Ryan. Thank you my friend.
Maybe one day if Psa gets their SH!# together I may consider cracking Mr. Mcgraw. For now he will remain in the black slab. In regards to the cards origin, nope definitely not a K. Mize purchase whom I believe you are referencing. If I were dying of thirst on a deserted island and he was there giving away free water, I’d still pass :) |

A Ruth I could afford. Not from a kinetoscope which could run a moving picture, but I can't recall the term for the type of scope you could drop a penny in in the 1920s and use a crank to flip through a wheel of individual pictures in an arcade. It would not surprise me if this was from one of those machines which are still used at Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh and that this copy was from a machine in Kennywood's children's arcade. 1:17 a.m. EST Mutoscope picture.

Took a break from my 52 High Numbers pursuit to pick up my first Babe, right here on Net54. A PSA 1, but a card near the top of my want list for as long as I've wanted cards. I could care less about the condition and I love it.
