Recently a 1955 Topps Koufax Rookie sold for $800.00 at a local card show----Great price for a a Koufax RC showing a excellent front-- problem the back was pretty well gone ( had been glued in a scrape book) a interesting market for Koufax RC's.

Sounds like the seller found exactly the right (uninformed) buyer.

Or…….
 

The buyer took a chance he could soak the residue off the back with minimal or no damage?? People like to gamble…….

PSA 3’s seem to be worth $800. This doesn’t say anything about the market for Koufax 1955 Topps cards, just a gamble it will soak and grade a 4 or better or the buyer is a fool and massively overpaid for a card easily available for far less.
