Jokic

34 points, 21 rwbounds, 14 assists. Those are absurd numbers. The NBA has so much talent right now.

And even more Amazing A.D put up 40 points 10 rebounds 3 steals 2 assists and he is forgotten because of the win going to Denver and Jocik amazing performance

JustinD 05-18-2023 12:12 PM

Even with the current press, I think The Joker is still well underrated because he's a Euro player.

That's a big boy triple double.

He's ridiculously good, and a fun player to watch to. I think the only reason he didn't win the MVP Award this year was due to voter fatigue....similar to Mike Trout and Michael Jordan not having more MVP Awards then they do.

He is a very special player, and Dave, you are spot on about the MVP - 3x in a row is just something they don't want to give out.

mrreality68 05-18-2023 12:57 PM

agree he is a special player and whenever he finally wins his first Championship he will be elevated and spoken of more.
Same thing happened with the Greek Freak

philliesfan 05-18-2023 01:44 PM

And his defense is spectacular! Yes please note the sarcasm.

clydepepper 05-18-2023 01:48 PM

He had 12 *reaking* rebounds in the FIRST QUARTER!!!

.

Joel Embiid fan in the house I presume. :D

Also a pretty great player. The league is better for it when he's able to stay healthy.

philliesfan 05-18-2023 03:10 PM

Yes an Embiid fan. The MVP race was close for the past few years between the two but Embiid should have won it last year. Their offensive stats are very close but defensively there is no comparison.

Jokic came up just a hair short from averaging a triple-double this season, finishing at 9.8 assists/game. I expect similar output in the playoffs. In the first series against the Suns he averaged 30-10-10. Rather impressive.

Peter_Spaeth 05-18-2023 09:50 PM

Another triple double for the man.

another for the Machine and his legend keeps growing. and it always feels like his triple doubles are monster triple doubles

Peter_Spaeth 05-20-2023 09:20 PM

No triple double tonight, but Denver up 3-0 now.

Peter_Spaeth 05-22-2023 09:15 PM

30 pts 14 reb 13 asst. And on to the finals.

His Legend is growing and more people are really starting to see and appreciate his skill sets.
4 more wins gives him the Championship

THat have been a really good team for the last several years and they finally made it to the Big Show

Touch'EmAll 05-26-2023 11:03 AM

His 9.8 assists per game is the most ever for a regular starting Center in the NBA. Ever, as in all-time ever for any Center that has ever played in the NBA, including Wilt. And the triple doubles, oh, my! We are truly seeing something very special. I hope all fans, even the Embiid fans, can acknowledge and respect these facts as utterly otherworldly.

Starting a team today. I will take Jokic over Embiid, no question, slam dunk.

Peter_Spaeth 06-01-2023 09:02 PM

Nuggests 1-0, Jokic another triple double.

nolemmings 06-01-2023 11:10 PM

27 points on 12 shots. Remarkable.

I don't know if there's an answer. Maybe take away his passing lanes and make him be a scorer. If the other guys are taken out of the flow it could affect 4th quarter rhythm, although this one was pretty much well over by then. I note that in the only game against the Suns where Jokic didn't register a triple double he ended up scoring 53 points---and lost. Perhaps making him score more could increase his fatigue and/or make him more prone to fouls. Just spitballin' here--I'm sure opponents have considered everything.

mrreality68 06-02-2023 08:58 AM

He is proving to be the best or one of the best Ball Players on the earth.

He also helps elevates the play of others.

With a championship it would really move him to the next level.

Where would you put him on the list of best players?

Peter_Spaeth 06-07-2023 09:04 PM

Denver takes game 3. 32 pts, 21 rebounds, 10 assists for Jokic.

Triple Doubles from two players on the same team. Haven't read any recaps yet, but I wonder if that's the first time that's happened in Finals play? It can't be very common even in the regular season.

2 players doing triple doubles on same team has happened

However 2 players on same team that had 30 point triple doubles has never happened in the regular season or post season until now.

It was an amazing performance

Snapolit1 06-08-2023 06:20 AM

I get the feeling with Jokic that he could score 45 points every game easily if he wanted to. Goes long stretches without shooting the ball, gets a ton of assists, and then all of a sudden you look up and he has 30 points. Unreal.

mrreality68 06-10-2023 08:11 AM

Jokic had a quite night by his standards last night 23 points 12 boards , 4 assists , 3 steals and 3 blocks but he did not need to do more his 2 teammates Gordon 27 points on 11 of 15 shooting and brown 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting made it look easy.

1 more game and Jokic has his championship and it really showed how he can step it up on the big stage when it counts while others like Harden, Embid, etc come up small in the playoffs

Miami starting guards literally disappeared. 2 points between them.

Sad but true

robinsonmantle 06-12-2023 08:25 AM

Does Denver take home the title tonight? Or does Miami win and extend the series?

I hope Miami wins to extend the series but the way they looked last game does not give me hope.

And Denver is really looking good

mrreality68 06-12-2023 09:24 PM

Came was close but Miami had great defense but was cold shooting

Jokic was the MVP and deserved it and he shined on the biggest stage.

Butter came up small had the points but missed to many shots

Denver deserved to win top team all year and proved it in the playoffs

Perhaps the Angels can find some help in Serbia. They need it.
